absolute URL -

An absolute URL directs you to a specific file or directory that is indepent. An example would be http://www.google.com/

browser -

A browser is a program used to view HTML document, eg. Internet Explorer or Firefox.

content -

The substance of a web page, any media, copy, etc.

CSS -

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets, it is a language used to describe the look and style of web pages.

Domain Name -

Domain name is a string of words or numbers used to identify computer addresses on the Internet.

FTP -

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, its a common method for transferring files between two computers connected to the internet.

homepage -

The index or first page of a web site.

HTML -

HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language, it is the language that makes up and defines a web page.

index.html -

Index.html is the default home page.

Internet -

Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks.

link -

A link on a web page can also be called a hyperlink, transfers and connects web pages, external media, etc.

meta tag -

A meta tag is a piece of code that defines an attribute of your page

URL -

URL is the address of a web page.

W3C -

The World Wide Web Consortium, which is a web standards committee.

WWW -

WWW is the World Wide Web.
